I believe it is illegal to threaten legal action unless they are prepared to move forward. Stop talking to these people- you may give them information they don't already have- You have nothing to gain by talking to the robot on the phone- they are programmed to ignore you and move on to whatever the next step of their script says. Your CPA may have some further advice to offer you.
