No, the lawyer can NOT take your car, YOU don't own it, the bank does. Even if your equity in it is above the $1000 exemption allowed by FL law, in order to get ANY money, the lawyer would first have to pay off the existing loan, then pay you your equity, THEN they can take their share. So, you can see, it would be a huge hassle for them to even bother with it.
