Florida wage garnishment is as follows:

Head of household is exempt unless you agree in writing to be garnished

Garnishment is based on after tax income- net income. If under 155 you are exempt. Other than that it is 25% of the net income.

They have to file a continuing writ of garnishment with the court. That has to be served on the employer. The person who is being garnished then has 30 days to contest the writ.

If the lawyer is served in person then he has two days to respond or else the garnishment is canceled.

You have the opportunity to go to court and plead hardship.
