As all of us or most of us know it is illegal to tape without the other partys knowledge or permission in a 2 party consent state. Camco hides in Illinois which is a 2 party consent state and would never give such permission. Most people have to rely on Camco calling their state to get their fdcpa violations and harrassment on tape and that is if they live in a 1 party consent state. California and other residents frequently get abused but cannot tape the abuse.

This only works if you have been contacted by Camco before and you have reason to believe they will break the fdcpa(which they always do) again or they are collecting on a BK debt which is a crime or they made up the debt entirely which is fraud and extortion. I will post the link below but this is what it says and Camco's attorneys have already tried to shoot down the law and failed miserably. If you have been abused and if you think they will continue to abuse you i.e. threats to your credit, threats of legal action, ect then call up Camco and record them without letting them know it. Here is what it basically says and what you need to look for:
720 ILCS 5/14-3(i)
(i) Recording of a conversation made by or at the request of a
person, not a law enforcement officer or agent of a law enforcement
officer, who is a party to the conversation, under reasonable suspicion
that another party to the conversation is committing, is about to
commit, or has committed a criminal offense against the person or a
member of his or her immediate household, and there is reason to believe
that evidence of the criminal offense may be obtained by the recording
