Thank you for ther term. Using that term, I looked some cases.

The initial letter was dated July 30 and the second letter was dated August 22 with an additional $200.00 added to the amount. One case that I found were the consumer won judgement was this lady received two letters under a thirty day period. It never stated what portion of the FDCPA was violated, but it state that too was violation.

Is this something that should be reported or am I just wasting my time?

I really hate that these sort of people can take advantage of the average person and literally scare them into paying.

The exact wording in my letter is:

It is important that you call our office immediately concerning the status of this acccount. Our account rep has been trying to reach you by telephone without success. Call now or send the balance today!! Make certain to write our eight letter file number on your check."

I will keep researching to see if I can find some more ammo, but any thoughts of yours are appreciated.
