Send them a cease and desist letter immediately, certified mail return receipt requested. This is the one I used:

Personalize this and include any threats made against you in that letter. Address the letter to the person who you spoke with.

Yes you will get back a useless, fraudulent letter from Jeff Garrington. Heads up-this is not the proof they are required to provide to you and it is falsely notarized.

If they sell this to someone else, it will not show up on your credit report unless the other company makes an inquiry. Dispute the inquiry already on your report if it appears to be CAMCO.

If they contact you again after receiving your cease and desist letter and not providing you with the legally required documentation, you may then file suit against them for violating the FDCPA.

I did file complaints with the BBB, FTC, IL AG and the MA AG. CAMCO responded that they never had documentation but that they are trying to get it. They now have 30 days to send me a letter with specific requirements or risk criminal and civil charges.
