My husband had the same thing happen.. We started getting calls from them last week then over the weekend we got a settlement offer. We could pay them $933.00 for a $2989.00 debt. We on the other hand have never had an acct with the people that we are suppose to owe this money to... I found alot of information about this company on www.ripoffreport.com there is a ton of people with the same problem.. What we did is emailed the FTC and my states attorney generals office. I also called the credit companys and put a fraud alert on my acct..
This afternoon I called Camco since I had never talked to them, I have only gotten msgs and one letter. I tried to talk to them but they said there is a ceist and deceist (spelling?) on my acct and they can no longer talk to me... Thats funny since I have never talked to them....
They said I would get another letter from someone else and thats all he could tell me... So not sure what I did but it seems to have worked......
