Thanks to all regarding RMA....
They kicked it up a notch today calling me at work repeatedly (the guy was totally abusive) even though I told them it's a threat to my job.
I need a little help as to the steps I should follow for successful agreement without all the harrassment.

Do I make them an offer for settlement over the phone and then put it in writing? OR should I send the Cease Comm. letter and then take it from there?
Is it OK to just make my comments and hang up on them? (I think I might be too polite but I just don't want to provoke them into a lawsuit.)

Does it matter if I filed a complaint with the FTC?
Should I be looking into getting a lawyer just based on the fact that they are now harrassing me at work? I'm in NJ so I'm considering taping their calls. Should I even bother or is all that stuff a waste of time?
I just want a fair settlement without all the bs.

Thanks for the settlement guidelines...the debt is from over 5 years ago when the acct was shutdown/frozen by Disc, but only charged off with the past year.
Thanks all , your help has been keeping me as close to sane as I can get....
