1 - SOL clock starts 'ticking' with your first delinqency before charge-off.

2 - You send the letters to the collection agencies. However, if these accounts are not charged-off yet, you're likely still dealing with the original creditor (OC) and they don't HAVE to comply with Cease and Desist letters. Just make sure your letter prohibits calls only. If you cut them off entirely, their only contact with you could very well be a lawsuit.

3 - Again, if the accounts have NOT been charged-off you cannot use Validation. OC's do NOT have to validate as they are NOT bound by the FDCPA. Once the accounts charge-off and you're dealing with only 3rd party collections, then validation may work. However, keep in mind the 'fresher' the debt, the more likely they are to be able to PROVE it.

Pull your credit reports, all 3 of them. Those will get you the dates you need.
