Let me add, the information I just posted is assuming that NJ law, statutes, read that the SOL time for bringing a law suit, begins with first cause for action. In other words the first time they would have reason to bring action against you, (missed payment and never caught up) understand. A few states laws or statutes, however, state that DOLA, date of last activity, resets the SOL, so if you make a payment you reset the clock. I do not know If your state laws or statutes read like that or not.
Then again this may only apply if the account is still open, and not closed.
You need to find someone, maybe on this board who is familiar with NJ law. You can go to
www.lawdog.com and look up NJ law and see what you can find. good luck
