To be honest, they probably won't accept the first offer you send, but the paper trail exists for the purpose of court proceedings, and if it does get that far, it shows a judge that you were and are willing to pay. Make yourself a special file for Sears communications only. Any collection letters from anyone you receive in regard to the sears account. Take the telephone out of the equation, because they can't intimidate you nearly as bad in writing! You may also fax the first letter in if you choose, but be sure to send the same letter CRRR.
