Just remember the next time you're tempted to pay a collection agency to make them go away:

They're crooks. No legitimate business would scream at their clients over the phone threatening them with jail or losing their children, etc. The only type of people who think that is acceptable business behavior are bookies and loan sharks and drug dealers. Oh, and collection agencies.

Get the pattern yet?

If you ever give a collection agency a DIME you are simply perpeuating this bullshit.

If you have a debt that you want to repay, then pay the original creditor directly. If they refuse to deal with you, saying your debt has been assigned or sold, then that's the end of it. The chances of you getting the collection agencies to remove the entry from your report EVEN if you pay them 100% of the debt is basically zero, so don't even bother.

Those are the facts, folks. I had quite a few letters from RMA over the years and they were the rudest bunch of assholes I have ever encountered. Now we know the truth- they are also a bunch of common criminals who were funneling any payments made by customers to OFFSHORE ACCOUNTS to avoid seizure when their illegal activities were eventually exposed.

Nice.
