I received a letter saying he could help with suit MBNA filed against. First I responded to the summons and notified I would be appearing. I belives they SOL is up and the W&A arbitation scam may be defensible, Md case precedence ruled against compelling arbitration. So I call him and say I want to talk about the suit. RIght away he says he can only give me two options file Chapter 13 or he can negotiate a monthly payment plan with MBNA for a $500 fee. He does even ask how long ago the account was closed, etc.. I said I could work out a payment plan on my own w/o a lawyer. He said good luck you will be screwed when the judgement comes along. He did not even try to ascertain if there was a good defense to figh the suit. Can anyone tell me how to find a good FDCPA lawyer in MD. This lawyer only believed in one size fits all.
