I received a civil summons from my local clerks office, I have 20 days to respond to this summons regarding Prividian bank for a credit card. I only had a 300.00 credit limit and I received the letter and I now owe 1,135.00 I had made arrangements years ago to pay this off and I have paid them for the money that was used on this card by purchasing. What this outrageous amount is for is in their terms, late fees and over limit charges. I am not working at this time and have no income. How do I address this summons and who do I send the response to, My clerks office or the attorneys for Providian? Help me because I have to answer this summons today and get it in the mail.
