You should probably contact the court and make sure that the pre-trial has been reset. I don't know the specifics of Texas law, but courts in civil cases usually will grant a continuance.

If you can reach the judge's judicial assistant, you will have a better chance of having the continuance granted.

If the court will not grant the continuance, you might need to get an attorney to appear for you in court that day and request a continuance until you return.

If the continuance is not granted, then failure to appear would give the other side a default judgment.
