Hey all, I was hopin' someone could help me. I have a former company credit card that is processing my total amount through a California court. They are willing to not go to go court to have my wages garnished if I was to pay them $600 per month to pay the balance off. That is a ton of money and about 45% of my total monthly net earnings. What I want to know is this: Is there a limit to the amount a court can decide to garnish my wages? I heard 25% is the max they can garnish (I'm in California). If that's the case, it would be much better for me financially to have them garnish the wages. However, I know that's a bad thing, but I don't think this law firm will drop to about $360/month (25%). What do I do about this? Should I just let it go to court? I'm just afraid of letting it go to court and then find out that the court charges me 60% per month or something...then I'm REALLLLY screwed and it would have been better to take the 45% originally posted by the law firm. :o( The law firm originally wanted me to pay $1100/month...there is no way in heck I can do that. I have already been served with court papers. However, they sent me another set of papers that I'm supposed to sign by the 12th (Friday) to accept the $600/month terms. I'm really stuck...please help if you can! Thanks! R1_Demon
