My parents used one of these services and it was worthless. Consumer Reports did an article on this type of thing several months ago. You may be able to access this at the Consumer Reports website. Basically, debt elimination services can't do anything for you that you can't do for yourself. State governments and many other organizations offer consumer credit counseling for free. Seek these folks out first.
