No thats not correct. A bankruptcy discharge does not pay or satisfy the debt. It is a legal injunction that prevents the debt from being collected against the discharged debtor. There is no co-debtor protection in Chapter 7 bankruptcy. If the debt is paid through a Chapter 13 bankruptcy then the co-debtor may be protected.
