HELP ME PLEASE I NEED REPO INFO

Last Sept,2002, My husband and I had a vehicle repoed. The company did not give us any notification that it would be repoed. I had recently talked to the people at GMAC and they told me we could work out a payment plan I followed the payment arrangements and they still repoed the car. I was wondering how they could do that. When the people came to get it I again contacted the company and he told me "The people are there to reposess it and you have to give it to them. You did not pay for it now it belongs to us." he then told me when I asked what I could do, "Nothing" He said that someone would contact us with when the sale would be. I never got anything on when the sale was, all I got was a thing saying we owed them $9400. It was a 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan with 64,000 miles. It was loaded. They said it sold for $5000 and we had to pay the difference. I was just wondering how we can get out of this other than BK I dont really want to do that over this bill but I cant afford to pay them the $200 a month they want so they turned it over to collections when they called I told them I could not afford $200 a month for a vehicle I dont even have they offered me $125 a month. I need help I live in Alabama..
