I have no clue on the age of the debt but 80% sounds rather high. I would start at 50%. Get everything in writing or they will screw you over. Ask for deletion of the account and a sentence that states they will not resell the debt. Get it in writing. In fact, I would draft a letter offering all of these terms and send it out to them to sign. Put something that upon receipt you will send the funds. Of course that could piss them off too. Who knows.
