Hello Everyone,

I have a charge-off from Providian Bank which was supposedly purchashed by Northeast Credit Collections (total scum) which are threatening a judgement. I asked them 3 times via telephone to please validate the debt & they said they would in court, they don't need to validate with me. Anyway on the 3 major Credit Reports there are 3 seperate charge-off dates. In PA, i have learned the SOL is 4 years, does that mean from the charge-off date, or the last payment i made from the account?? Getting back to NE Collections, they have broke the law by threatening to take personal property (exp. TV, Couch), have been abusive calling wife deadbeat, will not validate the account. If they shall send us a summons, can we beat them to the punch & call Providian & deal directly with them & leave the CA with their thing in their hand? LOL Northeast CA keeps changing the amount of the debt as well, so how are we supposed to know what we owe? If they bought the loan for 3 cents on the dollar, why cant we pay them 5 cents on the dollar & call it even. Sorry to ramble on, as you can tell i need a little advice here...Thanks Joe from PA
