Question, What should I look for?.....If the agreement is verbal and I check the docket for my case to see the status.

Lets say the plaintiff and I came to a settlement on the day of the court case. I spoke to a court clerk and she stated that the way it works is that the plaintiff and I will have the opportunity to settle the case on the same day prior to the actual case. She didn't mention if there would be an arbitrator present. But just in case there isn't one present is there anything I can get in writing from the plaintiff's lawyer?
