This is the EXACT reason why I haven't payed a DIME of any of my old college charge-offs. Even if you won the lotto and payed everything in full today, the late records, charge-off, collection accounts, etc. still stay on for the 7 years.

About the only thing you really can do is (like someone here mentioned) mail off disputes saying the account is not yours the Monday before Thanksgiving, or dispute online the day before Thanksgiving. It is on the 27th this year and the 30-day time period engulfs Thanksgiving & Xmas, when the CAs are short-staffed, and what's even more important, a lot of the Original creditors & collection agencies will ALSO be short-staffed. There's a good chance if you do this, that the collection agency won't have time or won't be bothered (especially since the debt is paid) to report back to the CA.

If this is the case, you will see the derogatory item removed, if you're lucky, from all 3 CRs.
