You are responsible for your bill. The fact that the insurance did not pay is not your fault, and it MAY be the Hospital's fault for improper billing,but that is NOT the issue you must address.

You need to file an answer and notice of appearance with the Court, it is POSSIBLE that you may have some defenses that ou can use in your answer, but you need a lawyer or legal aid in your own State to advise you.

You can, if you wish, take a look at the "how to answer a lawsuit" link on my website, and click on the NW Justice link to get some ideas, but without knowing your State, the dates involved, and what you did or didn't do to get this paid by your insurance company, there are no easy answers for you.
