Scott/LadynRed/WhyChat - Payday Advance question - PART 2

I posted my original question below (link). Payday advance - 12/00 in california originally for $300 (online company). credit report now shows $2800.

Do any one of you know what I am looking at as far as penalties? Can I go to jail? I think I may have stopped payment to avoid nsf fees....but I don't remember.

I've been contacted by an attorney and don't know what i should do (SOL up in 3 months). I can't find any laws on California payday advance companies...any help would be appreciated!
