Thanks, but I got an attorney's letter (Eskanos). They are
not part of Discover are they? The letter said to strictly deal with them, not the original
creditor. I appreciate all the advice, but right now I'm actually more
confused than before because of conflicting advice. So far
I've been told: 1) Keep a low profile and hope they don't sue.
2) Send them a letter asking them to verify the debt.
3) Tell them to cease all phone contact (not a problem since
they're not calling me).
4) Send them a cease and desist (Bud Hibbs).
5) Contact original creditor and try to make payment
arrangements. Not sure which path is best for this situation. It sounds like
I'm about to get sued pretty quick if I don't do something. If
that happens, Chapter 7 might be the way to go.
