I'm assuming here that the tradelines are associated to a different CA or back to the OC. It probably means that the original CA couldn't find anyone to pin it on, so it went to the next CA who, through their moron searches, is again trying to stick it to you.

The problem is, one that I am having to deal with, is that once you are associated to someone else (likely with a similar name and info), it is exceedingly difficult to separate yourself. I've been harassed, and even taken to court over mine.

Since they are not yours, here's what I would do (some may disagree but it worked for me), I'd contact Verizon first about the debts. Likely, as old as they are, they won't have any information on them. If they do, get them to agree that they are not yours. Then get a name and number (and a letter if possible) from them and contact the CRAs and dispute them based on that information.

If the tradelines are on with them as the source, get them to remove them from their end.

However if a CA placed this information on your report, it's another ball game. I'd still contact them and explain the situation, how they have the wrong person. If they are a reputable company (is there any such thing?), they should understand and agree to remove them. I'd follow that up with a CRRR to them describing the conversation confirming that they agreed to do that, and then I'd dispute it with the CRAs, in writing CRRR with the same information. If you get grief from the CA, I'd follow up with a CRRR to them describing the conversation and that it appears that they are refusing to remove the bogus tradeline. That's against FCRA. I'd give them one more chance to reconsider and remove it.

In my case I got lucky and had the two bogus tradelines removed after just 4 phone calls (one to original OC who knew nothing, their CA who agreed it wasn't mine, one other OC who did recognize it wasn't mine, and one to Equifax).

Good luck to you.
