you are being scammed. I guarentee amex has nothing to do with this and it would not surprise me to find out a fake amex is calling you. Nobody can put this back on your credit report and if you pay them not only are you a total sucker which result in more call but they will find a way to put it back on. You owe nothing. There is nothing legal they can do. Who is the collection agency? Also, if you pay they will send your name out to all the agencies as the fool who paid an ancient debt. Don't be on that list.
