You've got 2 problems to deal with here. One, you need to send whoever sent the recent letter a validation demand - make THEM send you the details and prove the debt is yours.

However, the judgment is a bigger issue, and you won't remove THAT so easily. You need to call the courthouse and get a copy of the case file for the judgment. In it you'll have all the details of the lawsuit and a proof of service form. This will tell you when, where, how, and to whom the summons was served. For something 3 years old, you are could have problems getting it vacated, most states only allow you a year to appeal a judgment. However, if the account was fraudulent, then you MAY be able to deal with the judgment that way rather than attacking the service.
