Many of these collection agencies have their call blocking on which prevents the person that you are calling from seeing your calling number or from doing a trace. I tried that with the trace thing and the number is unknown which means that they turn on that service.

A consumer by looking at the beginning of his phone book might be able to activate a service (usually a * with a two digit number) that prevents the person who has their call blocking on to get through. Your phone just won't ring when it is an unidentified number. They will recieve a recording at the other end that will tell them that they cannot go through unless they turn off their call blocker.

Other privacy programs are available with your local telephone company as well. If they don't want to identify themselves, then you should not have to talk to them.
