Thanks for the reply. I'm in Arkansas. This OC has managed to rack up a few violations of state law along the way, as well--although I don't know how useful that will be.
I've have an attorney who has agreed to represent me in this matter who is very well versed in the FCRA. I've only spoken to her over the phone so far (have first meeting with her next wed's). I told her the abbreviated version of this story and told her that I had tons of documentation (from a CRRR letters, to the cancelled check that I paid account with and a letter from their attorney stating acct was paid in full in 2000) She seemed to think that the case I had was very strong. Guess I'm just getting nervous. I've been fighting this battle for almost 2 years now, learning everything I can about the FCRA and FDCPA along the way. I know that they have violated the law numerous times, just guess that I was having some doubts now that the time for action is finally here. Sooo, Ill just pack up my filing cabinet full of documentation and head to her office on wed's and see what she says!
