Simply put, there's no benefit. Even if you won the lottery and paid them every dime they asked for, your CRs would still be bad for seven years part the DLA. Even if they're nice enough to mark the collection as 'paid', you still have the original charge-off staring you in the face for the next 7 years, and a charge-off is about the worst thing you can have on your CRs.
