I received a phone call from NCO Financial on my cell phone on Wednesday. At the time I was unable to answer my phone and a young woman left me a message that I needed to call NCO at a 800 number as soon as possible. I did not return the call. Instead, today, I wrote a letter to NCO stating that I did not return the call because I do not handle financial matters over the phone and I also have no knowledge of such a company. I asked that all further correspondence from them be mailed. Was this the right thing to do? I am a NC resident and don't really know the laws of my state. I also have no clue what debt they would be collecting on (I have been reading a lot about NCO and I am nervous) because I pay the minimum or more on all accounts each month. HELP!
