They said if I paid them $4200 that they would consider it paid and mark the collection as paid. I asked them about the ORIGINAL CREDITOR (DISCOVER CHARGEOFF) that is also on my reports.

They said that there is NOTHING they can do about it.

Work with me, my ass.

I hung up on them, was investigating ways of possible credit repair, then stumbled across this site. It has educated me to the extreme.

I had every intention of paying all my old debts, until I learned that it would actually hurt me, rather than help. I have been doing nothing but paying my car payments, rent, and my 3 good standing credit cards in full every month for the past two years and my credit is still screwed up until another 2 or three years because of those assholes RE-AGING my debts and putting the dates as 97, 98 and 99, when they were 1995 and 1996.

I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT FOR THESE COMPANIES ANYMORE, AND WILL NEVER PAY THEM A DIME.

Take time to read some of these stories and see what these scumbag companies are doing to people. I thought *I* was in a bad situation, I'm in credit perfection compared to some of these people here.

Hopefully you'll never be unfortunate enough to get laid off from work and not be able to pay your bills for a few months. If it happened to you, I'm sure you'd have a different attitude.
