I don't understand what reaging is, is this one?

Sherman Acq, acuired a collection of mine. I stopped paying on the account in 1996 and never contacted them back, Sherman bought the collection I assume, now on my credit report it says opened 6/2000 last reported 7/2003.

Is that reaging? Shouldn't the date be for back in 1996 when it was with the original debitor? I only ask because I am not sure.
