DO NOT deal with them on the phone. Correspond by certified return receipt requested only. If they do not send you mail certified, they cannot prove you received anything. No signature. No joy. Read your rights under the law. Send them certified letter tellling them no phone calls at home or work or anyplace. No phone calls at all. It is your right. Deal with them only when you have to. Let no phone call be recorded. Ask for proof of debt. It's your right. If they cannot prove debt within 30 days, law says it's over. A letter from them saying they have reviewed the debt and it is valid IS NOT proof of debt. Thye must provide copies of sales slips, etc. you have signed. Ask from day one when account was opened. Make them work for it. Above all do not let them "get your goat". Don't answer the phone. If they call after 9 p.m., local time, get a picture of the caller ID showing time and date. That is illegal. Good luck!
