Discover and lawsuit?

I recieved a letter today from someone claiming to be an attorney demanding payment within thirty days.....

Says this:

This firm has been retained to file a lawsuit against you to collect the debt owed to Discover.

Unless you notify this office within 30 days after recieving this notice that you dispute the validity of this debt or any portion thereof, this office will assume that this debt is valid. If you notify this offive in writing within 30 days from recieving this notice, this office will obtain verification of the debt or obtain a copy of a judgement and mail you a copy of sucj judgment or verification. If you request this office in writing after 30 days of recieving thie notice, this office will provide you with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor.

Please make payment to this office.

This communication is from a debt collector. This is an attempt to collect debt, and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.

My last payment to Deiscover was on 11-25-98
I live in Washington state.........thats past 3 years so should I ignore this?
