Oh, please, don't get me started. I'll give you a worse scenario and I was told there was nothing I could do about it.

Back in 1976 I had a problem paying the IRS what I owed them. I was trying to make arrangements for payments to them, when out of the blue they hit my Wells Fargo checking account and took everything (no court hearing...no legal judgment...nothing). I was just about to make a deposit into this account (I'm actually in the bank) when my wife shows up and tells me what is going on (at least 1 decent person working at WFB called and advised her and she must have broken numerous laws to get to me).

I have two outstanding checks. I want to know how to cover them. WFB says I can't, any money put into the account goes to IRS. Okay, so fortunately, it was only 2 checks, I'll deal with it. Not their fault.

A few days later, the checks hit the bank. What does WFB do since I have overdraft protection on my Mastercard? Well they kick the money into the checking account to cover the checks....and then they send the money to the IRS and the checks still bounce. The IRS is CHARGING ON MY CREDIT CARD without my permission.

I go charging down to the bank. I am livid. I am literally screaming at them. How could they do this? They refuse to do a single thing about it, my tough luck.

Needless to say, the account is immediately closed, I pay off the Mastercard (I guess I could have disputed the amount...but I wasn't going to go there), close the MC account and I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN WFB again in my life.

So that's my little Bank horror story, we all have one. lol
