I got a letter from camco

I got a letter from camco today, telling me if I send them $466 they'll forgive my debt of $1,463 and I have too sept. 30 to respond. If I dont respond they'll (this is exactly what it says) "we will evalute your credit history and present financial circumstance, and then proceed with an appropriate collection program in accordance with state and federal law. This is for a 12 year old debt, way past sol. I never sent a C&D letter because they have been sending letters to my old mail and I didn't want them to know my new address. So far I've been ignoring them and hanginig up on them when they call. My question is should I send them scotts C&D letter I save on my hard drive? Should I contact a lawyer ? Is there anything that they can do to me?
