Finally- Ohio People. !! I have a court appt tomorrow with the magistrate for a Discover card that was opened in July 1993. sold to asset acceptance corp in july 1998. All paperwork comes in my maiden name,and collection letters were apparently being sent to my previous address. I contacted Asset to request copies of statements, and the original agreement to open the credit card, said they did not have that information and wanted me to settle the balance. Am I just going to be stuck paying this? I don't even remember having the card. I was in college when the account was opened and didn't even live at the address the bills were going to. Any help would be appreciated!!! Soon!
