That is correct. They can NOT charge you for anything such as copies of documents, etc. (and that is supported in an FTC opinion letter too). You want them to produce an agreement with YOUR signature on it. You want them to produce a COMPLETE ACCOUNTING of the alleged balance they are after you for. A 'last statement' won't do that, it does NOT show what is included in whatever balance is showed as owing.
