The credit union reported you. Some banks have other services that they report their bad customers to. Telechecks I believe is a reporting agency that banks and credit union uses. It is their watchdog agency so to speak.

If you cannot pay the judgement, you won't be able to write checks. You might have to go to a cash and carry system which many people who cannot get a checking account do. You keep mostly cash on yourself and those bills requiring checks, you get money orders for.
