I don't think they can take everything over 50x the min wage, that would be a violation of the FEDERAL laws. U'll have to check the statutes to be sure of what's really there.

The SOL for credit cards in NH is THREE years, so if the charge off happened last year, you still have another year to go. I could still be sued, but there's just no way to tell when or even IF they will do so. They have to serve you papers, and typically use last known address to do so. You need to keep an eye on the courts if you're that afraid. Bankruptcy will certainly get rid of the whole mess.

IF they sued and if they won, even if they went for garnishment, if it caused you hardship, as you say it would, you could probably get it either reduced or removed entirely. BTW, Federal Law PROHIBITS and employer from firing you because of a garnishment.
