Removing CitiBank Collection Status & Sherman Acq.

My Citbank account has just went into collection status. I am currently having monthly payments debting out of my account going to a collection agency for Citbank. Do you think that Citbank can remove collection status and set up a payment arrangement with me? How do I get rid of the collection agency involvement?

Also there is another similiar situation with Sears, Sherman Acq. is collecting for them. They have threaten to prosicute me and/or garnish my wages if there demands aren't met. Can they really do this? What are my option?
