I live in Texas. Salary is roughly $70,000 (one full time & four part time jobs). I own a home but still owe $100,000 on it and there is a homestead exemption. I am in similar (not quite as bad though) situations with five other crditors, but in good standing with several others. I have explained the situation to all creditors that I am behind with and so far all but FNANB are somewhat reasonable. The others have still advised against charge-offs but did not threaten with a lawsuit.
The situation should improve to where I can at least pay minimum balances by mid-December (car will be paid off)and probably more after that (small raise takes affect in early Feb).
I am just trying to get them to give me a LITTLE more time to start paying minimum payments.
