Sounds like you just moved into a new house/apartment.

DTC-Comcast would be your cable tv provider. Cable companies want your social security number to run a credit report now to start service. If you refuse your social security number, they’ll want a deposit.

Banks are sneaky when you open a new checking account. They usually ask if you would like one of their credit cards to go with it. If you agree, they’ll take that as approval to run a credit report on you. Opening a checking account only, without written authorization from you okaying a credit report is a no-no.
