I have some more questions. My husband's car is in MY name and is FINANCED. We have around 15 payments left. Can they take his car? I have a 98 Ford Escort which is paid for. What about a checking/savings acct. in both our names. We do have another one, just in his name that we could use. Also, When I stop paying on my accts. and it shows up on my credit report, won't the others be able to raise my husband's finance charge sky high? And finally, when do you think we would be able to get a decent mortgage rate if we wanted to move and buy a new house?
