Paid Off CC, FICO Score Down by 25 Points

For the last two years, I've made it a priority to pay off all of my cards every month. I refused to carry a balance. But, recently I had reason to carry a balance for two months. I paid off my CC, thinking it would raise score significantly (as it had in the past) and to my horrible surprise, my FICO dropped by 25 points. Why? Has anyone else had this experience?
