Yes, any judgment is public record, and will eventually find its way to your credit report. The amount is not the issue, any judgement means that you owed someone something, they took you court because you wouldn't pay, and they won. A judge cannot make something 'stay in his office' as it this is something that is public, not sealed and private. He can dismiss it, and still may, but you will have to wait until his written ruling is sent to you. If he said that he was entering a judgment, then in my opinion it doesn't look good for you...I would have taken the dismissal and crossed my fingers they didn't refile.
