Simply being named as a defendant in a lawsuit will not be listed in the public records section. If you prevail or your case is dismissed, nothing will ever be listed mentioning the lawsuit on your credit report

Only, if you lose, and have a judgment entered against you, will it show in the public records section.

Then it will be listed as a judgment. Real estate liens and wage garnishment orders resulting from the judgment would also be listed under the public records.
